Publishing at Xamk

Our publishing team helps our staff to produce high-quality open access publications, which are evaluated by experts from different fields.

Xamk’s publications series disseminate the results of our work and can be used to support research, teaching or professional services.

Xamk’s publishing activities are overseen by a publication group consisting of both teaching staff and RDI staff, and the daily activities are coordinated by Development Services.

The Universities of Applied Sciences Act states that the purpose of publication activities is to increase the impact and usability of the information produced by universities of applied sciences in education, working life and regional development.

Publication activities make our activities visible. 

Open access publishing

We are committed to the principles of open science and education in our publishing activities. Xamk’s publications are available for everyone to read in Theseus and on this website.

Open Access (OA) publishing means the publication is openly available online. Open access publishing also increases the visibility and impact of our operations.

Open access publications are easy to share. They appear in search engines and increase the likelihood of being discovered and cited.

As a rule, Xamk publishes openly.

For example, 95% of publications published in 2022 were freely available.
